These are some of my pics from the Glass Craft & Bead Expo, which happened April 1st-5th, 2009. This year, I was fortunate enough to have a table in the Bead Bizaar section. Even though my table wasn't hugely profitable, I was able to meet a lot of other artists there, as well as seeing some I haven't seen in a while. All-in-all it was good fun.

Of course, one of the biggest events this year was the flame-off (or International) contest/event. Seeing all these artists with HUGE torches, working with teams, was just amazing and made me feel like all my glass beads, no matter how well created, were just so infinitesimal compared to these glorious larger projects. It also gave me the angst and hope that maybe, one day, I could move onto larger pieces (as long as I have a bigger torch!). The first 3 pics below are of my both (which was on the back isle) and the Bead Bizaar floor. The rest are some pics of the artists working at the flame-off along with some of the final pieces.

One of things about this year in Vegas for me, was the fact that my daughter came with. She had never been to Vegas before, so it was a thrill to be able to show her and her Friend Noemi around the strip. Here are some shots of Mandalay Bay and our Strip tour.
