I had a such a great time during my week long workshop at the Mesa Art Center with Loren Stump.
Loren is a teriffic instructor and we learned many new techniques - some I have never tried before. We all had a great time!
Below is Loren: Making a Venitian Figure, making a face murrini and blowing a vase. The last picture is of Loren's finished vase and stopper.
Below are pictures of the class during our final project: making floral paperwieghts. There's me in the last picture, peeling the puck! I was the only student brave enough to get on that huge torch - Kudos to Laurie Nessel also for peeling pucks (she is one of the MAC's wonderful teachers - in the foreground, pic 4).
And below are some of the pictures of the student's flower arrangements before they went into the paperwieghts - we all did such a great job! My arrangement is the first picture in the second row (blue & purple center flowers). The last pic is of the flower arrangement Loren was making.
And finally, here are pics of some of Loren's beautiful artwork. Many of the pieces he brought with him to display, but some he made during our classes - like the black whip lady, the blown shell, the rose (about 1/2" round) and the sculpted murinni head. What an exciting time!
